Overall I am satisfied with this product, HOWEVER, I do feel a little more attention to detail would provide a more excellent product; 1- I see no reason why the mounting Base Plate is so much wider than the Leg Post. This creates a sloppy fit and could be an Achilles heel that leads to failure. The base mounting plate should be made just wide enough to allow the leg post to fit inside. 2- The holes drilled for the hardware are much larger than necessary. If the holes were just big enough for the respective hardware this would create a tighter fit and add to the strength of the rack. With my experience building custom playground equipment I have some familiarity with metal fabrication. With the understanding that this product is designed to fit a variety of models of trucks, it appears the manufacturer of this product is trying to find the easiest way to limit the cost of production (As so many companies do these days). With a little more time on the drawing board and attention to detail, this could be a much better rack. Given the price of this ladder rack is so much more than the average ladder rack I expected it would have fit together better. The overall design and construction of this product appears very good. Time will tell.
