The Bendix K049086 AD‑IS® PuraGuard® Air Dryer is a stand‑alone, coalescing‑media AD‑IS module designed for applications requiring higher oil removal performance. The AD‑IS® system integrates the air dryer, purge reservoir interface, governor, and pressure protection valves into a single module to reduce leak points and simplify maintenance. The PuraGuard® coalescing cartridge adds an oil‑removal media at the inlet of the desiccant bed, providing enhanced protection for downstream brake and air‑operated components. As Bendix notes, the design “removes liquid, vapor and solid contaminants from the air system” while using a self‑contained purge reservoir to help the service tanks “maintain consistent pressure during the purge cycle.” The spin‑on cartridge design allows quick service, and the four pressure protection valves help maintain brake circuit integrity in the event of a downstream pressure loss.
