- Why are you calling these Visiocorp mirrors? They look like Schefenacker towing mirrors.
- Schefenacker decided to change their name in late 2007 to better reflect their dedication to high quality vision system, so Schefenacker is now known as Visiocorp. The product has not changed, only the company name.
- Is it necessary to have the TTT mirror installed by a professional, or can I do it myself?
- It is not necessary to have the TTT mirror installed by a professional, only recommended. The installation of the mirror may require you to remove the vehicle's door trim, route wires through the door frame and splice the wire harness into your vehicle wires. If you are unsure, we suggest you review the mirror's fitting instructions for your particular vehicle to help you decide.
- How long does it take to install the TTT mirror?
- The time to install will depend on your vehicle type, the existing functions of your factory mirrors, and the skill level of the installer. Most applications can be completed between 0.5 to 2.0 hours.
- Why is the Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirror the best on the market?
- Visiocorp is the world's largest manufacturer of exterior mirrors. Their credibility as the manufacturer of the Ford F-Series twin arm telescopic mirror, and ability to combine great looking aerodynamic styling and toughness, sets them apart from the competition.
- I have manual adjustable mirrors, can I install a TTT mirror with electric adjusted glass?
- No, the mirror kit does not include the wiring or switches to allow you to retrofit a vehicle that has manually adjusted mirrors, with mirrors that have electric adjusted glass.
- Can I replace my non-heated factory mirrors with a TTT mirror that has heated glass?
- Yes. Please refer the the fitting instructions for the recommended wiring procedures.
- Can I replace my electric adjusted mirrors with a manually adjusted mirror?
- Yes. The mirror will have no mating connector to your vehicle, so these features will not work. However, you may have to secure the vehicle connector to the door to prevent rattling.
- Are there replacement parts available if this mirror is damaged?
- Yes. There is a range of replacement parts available in case your Visiocorp TTT mirrors are damaged. (See below for details.)
- What color is the cover on the mirror that I purchase?
- All mirrors are supplied with a polished black cover. Chrome covers are available, and can be ordered separately.
- Can I paint my mirror covers to match my vehicle's body color?
- Yes. The polished black cover can be painted to match your vehicle body color.
- Do the LED clearance lights stay on permanently?
- The clearance lights will only operate when your night driving lights are turned on.
- What is a MultiPlex kit?
- MultiPlexing refers to the reduction in the number of wires inside the vehicle; in this case,
from the mirror to the switches and systems that control the functions of the mirrors.
Visiocorp supplies a MultiPlex kit (part number 1090) that consists of a driver side and passenger side harness. It is sold separately and is required for all MY2003+ Chevy, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles. Many competitor products do not have this kit, and therefore cannot be fitted to these models. The harness connects the electrical functions of the mirror to the vehicle's control switches.
- I have manual (or) electric glass mirrors. Can I install TTT mirrors with heated glass and/or clearance lights and turn signals?
- Yes. Please refer to the fitting instructions for the recommended wiring procedures.
- I have a Ford Super Duty truck. Will the TTT mirror fit?
- Unfortunately, the TTT mirror will not fit. Visiocorp is the manufacturer of the OE Ford F-series twin arm telescopic mirror. They do not manufacture an aftermarket mirror for this vehicle as the Ford mirror is currently available through your local Ford Parts and Service dealership.
